For the first time in our history, Media Sonar will be attending the Cybertech Global Conference on January 28-30. Vice President of Product Management, Tyler Logtenberg and Business Development Representative, Mrigya Sharma will be travelling to Tel Aviv, Israel for the largest cyber conference in the world. As an invitee of the Ontario Trade Delegation, we are excited to stand beside other leading companies within Ontario and share our solution with the rest of the world.
Cybertech Global is an opportunity for B2B companies to learn about the latest technological innovations and share their solutions with other organizations within the industry. The event will feature top executives, government officials and key decision-makers in a wide range of organizations interested in the most innovative approaches to cybersecurity.
Combatting the Increase in Cyber Attacks
According to Juniper Research, cybercrimes accounted for $2 trillion in 2019. By 2021, cybercrimes are forecasted to cause $6 trillion in damages. In order to combat the increase in cybercrimes, the security industry must come together to share their ideas to help combat the problem.
“At a global conference like this, especially considering the size, people unify on the same priorities and open their eyes to what different countries are experiencing,” Tyler said. “It helps the entire industry because now the whole world is thinking about things that they might not have otherwise considered”.
“While every country has its borders, these borders don’t really exist online”. – Tyler
Networking With A Unique Audience
“Cybertech is filled with an international audience of very smart people that are all working to try to make the world a safer place,” Tyler said. “When you have an audience like this, the people you connect with are all working hard to try and come up with different ways to accomplish similar goals”.
With a busy agenda of speakers and exhibits ahead, Tyler’s goals for the conference are twofold – meeting other professionals in the industry and sharing Media Sonar with the world.
“The more people you connect with and bounce ideas off of will give you a better context of how the world is operating and what is happening,” Tyler said. “The creativity and passion that is in that group is absolutely amazing and I’m happy to share what we have built here with that audience”.
An Opportunity for Cyber Professionals
In an ever-changing industry, there is a need for ongoing learning to stay up to date with available solutions, what the key problems are, and what thought leaders are discussing and prioritizing within the industry.
“Industry professionals need to go to something like this because if there is ever a point where your company stops learning or you think that you’ve learned enough, that is a sign that you are the wrong person to still be in this industry,” Tyler said. “You could go read 30,000 security blogs to get that same information, but it’s so much more time-effective and cost-effective at a conference like this and results in a much higher concentration of information”.
Sharing Media Sonar with the World
Tyler brought attention to the number of companies who are skilled in the threat intelligence and threat detection market. While Media Sonar offers this capability, the platform takes it to the next level.
“Where Media Sonar differs is we don’t end at just finding the risks and surfacing them,” Tyler said. “If you discover a threat that has been surfaced by our threat detection system, we are able to then go and investigate, store it, collaborate with that information to resolve it, validate it, and triage it appropriately in your organization”.
